(More customer reviews)I bought this product a year ago for my 10 pound cat who requires less than a cup a day of dry food.
My first criticism is that the LED control dial you plug into the wall has such a small display and such tiny dials it is difficult to manage programming and you can forget teaching a temporary sitter about it because it is complicated to grasp at first.
The second criticism is that although they advertise it for small pets I have been unable to get consistent amounts. For example, when the feeder resevoir is full one only needs to program the feeder for a minute but as the food depletes it is more time consuming for the pellets to reach the food opening. Thus, one either gets too much food at the beginning and not enough at the end. The older pet safe model was more predictable even though it could not give small enough portions.I would not trust this model if I went on vacation.
