(More customer reviews)For whatever reason, my kitties seem to enjoy drinking from the Le Bistro waterer more than from their water dishes. Maybe it's the novelty. I do think it will be a good solution for supplying them with fresh water when I'm away.
It *is* a bit on the light side, though. I put mine in a narrow space between a cabinet and a wall, to make sure they don't use it as a toy and slide it all over the floor.
Update: I stopped using this after finding it one morning tipped over with water all over the floor. It's just too light for a young, playful cat.

(More customer reviews)I have purchases two Ergo auto feeders both worked fine, One malfunctioned and wouldn't dispense food. After having a hard time getting through to Ergo I emailed debnroo supplier. The response was almost immediate. They called me and after explaining the circumstances Andy Mowery got in touch with Ergo and the problem was resolved and a new base unit is on it's way . It is getting rarer that a concern responds this way. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any product the debnroo has for sale . Now to the product. As I get older there might be times when I have to be in a hospital for a few days. The auto waterer and feeder takes care of my two dogs with out worry. The timer was a little difficult but if one follows the instructions it will work. I now feed dogs three times a day instead of two . It took a few days for dogs to use feeder as they kept waiting for me to tell them OK. Now I can regulate how much each dog gets without worry.

(More customer reviews)The bottle stays quite securely in the base, and the walls of the base are high enough that my dogs generally don't spill the water out of it. Of course the entire unit can be tipped over, but overall it's quite sturdy and stays upright unless pushed over quite hard (e.g., when one of my dogs has a seizure).
What I like best about the unit is it's easy to fill in a regular sink, e.g., a not-deep bathroom sink. It appears the manufacturer sized the water container intentionally for this, as it's pretty nearly a perfect fit in my sink to fill.
It has a wide opening so looks like it will be easy to clean if/when I need to (I haven't yet). The water is controlled in coming out by a separate little cap/hole in the lid. With that open and the container in place on the base, the water trickles out into the water dish portion.
The cap is very secure, but sometimes it's a bit hard to get it aligned so it screws on tightly.
Overall, I'm very happy with these units. I've bought several of them for my rather large dogs.
