(More customer reviews)The bottle stays quite securely in the base, and the walls of the base are high enough that my dogs generally don't spill the water out of it. Of course the entire unit can be tipped over, but overall it's quite sturdy and stays upright unless pushed over quite hard (e.g., when one of my dogs has a seizure).
What I like best about the unit is it's easy to fill in a regular sink, e.g., a not-deep bathroom sink. It appears the manufacturer sized the water container intentionally for this, as it's pretty nearly a perfect fit in my sink to fill.
It has a wide opening so looks like it will be easy to clean if/when I need to (I haven't yet). The water is controlled in coming out by a separate little cap/hole in the lid. With that open and the container in place on the base, the water trickles out into the water dish portion.
The cap is very secure, but sometimes it's a bit hard to get it aligned so it screws on tightly.
Overall, I'm very happy with these units. I've bought several of them for my rather large dogs.

(More customer reviews)I got this product at a petco/petsmart and it worked for several months, but then another family member of mine dropped it and it broke.
But while we were using it, it worked great!
The only thing I wished it had was a stand so it could stand up on its own, without needing someone to hold up. That is why I subtracted a star.

(More customer reviews)This is a great and handy--does not leak!--little (about 6 inches or so) portable bottle/drinker for dogs who still like to walk the hot streets of Manhattan but can't find the occasional water bowl that some store owners may place outdoors. One flip of the holder and just a squeeze, water enters the drinking tray. Dogs love it and it is neat and tidy for owners. Has a loop for fastening to leash or belt. I carry mine in shoulder bag--put carefully place it upright and inside a baggie for extra protection. But I have not experienced any leakage which is important for those who have cell phones and Blackberries.Easy to clean at home and refill. Dandy purchase, fast shipment. Terrific all around.
